American band formed in San Francisco by keyboardist Alan Fitzgerald and guitarist Brad Gillis, which achieved popularity in the 1980s. Alongside such collectives as: Toto, Foreigner, Styx, REO Speedwagon, Night Ranger are representatives of melodic rock, although compared to them, Night Ranger's style rests almost entirely on hard rock.
