Van Morrison

Sir Van Morrison (full name George Ivan Morrison; born August 31, 1945) is a Northern Irish singer-songwriter known for a hybrid of folk music (including traditional Ulster motifs) with American styles — blues, soul, jazz, and gospel. A multi-instrumentalist, he plays guitar, keyboards, drums, saxophone, and harmonica. Musicologists have invented a special term to describe his work — "Celtic soul." Knight Bachelor (2015), Officer of the Order of the British Empire (1996).
