Genesis
A British rock band created in 1967 that originally belonged to the progressive rock movement. The group received Grammy awards, sold over 150 million albums worldwide (of which about 22 million in the US), and entered the top 30 of all time by this indicator. The most famous members, Peter Gabriel and Phil Collins, had successful solo careers. The group periodically changed its lineup; the most serious change occurred in 1975 when Gabriel left the group and drummer Collins became the main vocalist. In 1997, before recording the studio album Calling All Stations (the last one to date), Collins was replaced by Ray Wilson; due to the commercial failure of this album, the group announced its dissolution, but in October 2006, Collins, Rutherford, and Banks reunited for a farewell concert tour. On March 15, 2010, the group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
