Серьезная концептуальная вещь 70-х годов. Первое что мне понравилось впринципе у Элиса ещё с детства, со школьных времён. Прослушав его я влюбился в него. Частно слушаю и никогда не сомневался в своём мнении о нём. Шедевр на все времена! Что тут ещё говорить ? надо слушать а не говорить. Каждая здесь вещь идеальная. Материал самый сильнейщий у Элиса. Уровень мастерства превосходный. Каждая песня запоминается и её можно пропеть.

In the year 1975, Alice Cooper released his de-facto 8th album, however, de-jure the 1nd A completely updated lineup, and here, receive the first solo album, where Alice Cooper is a name, and not the name of a group. As producing help, Alice (he is also Vincent Damon Furnier, but it was precisely in the 75th that the musician became Alice Cooper even according to documents) no longer for the first time attracted Bob Ezrin, the future producer of Pink Floyd's legendary “The Wall” and Kiss's “Destroyer”, and by that moment already having behind his back 4 successful records precisely with Cooper. Lou Reed's guitarist Dick Wagner and, of course, Ezrin helped Alice in writing the material. Actor Vincent Price voiced the text of the narration about a boy named Steven, traveling through the world of his nightmares. One can say that precisely Welcome to my nightmare became Ezrin's first global conceptual project - a genre in which he particularly succeeded later. WtmN combines Cooper's typical glam-rock things like Department of Youth or Cold Ethyl, the ballad about the difficult female lot Only Women Bleed, more complex numbers like Welcome to My Nightmare and The Black Widow, and the complex ending of the narration Years Ago / Steven / The Awakening. Only the last composition, Escape, can be called weak, but Cooper couldn't have finished it without a glam-banger. The unmentioned Devil’s Food and Some Folks are also excellent. If we consider Escape something in the style of an outro, then there are no minuses in WtmN — an ideal Alice Cooper disc. Not too glam, not too heavy, perfectly recorded, but at the same time without overloaded arrangements, although completely not simple.
